Dr Holcombe is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist with a particular expertise in block-free premium micro-incision cataract surgery and treatment of macula disorders such as age-related macula degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He is fellowship trained in these areas at the prestigious Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and has published a PhD in the field of ophthalmology. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and discipline lead for Ophthalmology at the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School.
